The PEACH Story
PEACH is a Brazilian independent beachwear brand created in Salvador, Bahia, to expand the possibilities of self-expression for gay men through fashion.
The brand was born from the realization that the swimwear market was still shaped by very traditional references, with limited variety in cuts, colors, and ways of dressing. Through the vision of Dilton Rios, a professional with more than 20 years of experience in retail, commercial management, and brand building, PEACH became something larger than a swimwear store: a space for identity, freedom, and belonging.
PEACH was created to question the standards that, for a long time, defined what was considered masculine, appropriate, or acceptable. It was created to remind us that there are many ways to be a man, to be gay, and to inhabit one’s own body.
Why Did We Stop Wearing Thin Swim Briefs?
During the 1970s and 1980s, thin swim briefs were part of Brazilian beach culture. Over time, they lost space to wider shorts and boardshorts, influenced by surfwear, sports culture, and new ideas of masculinity.
This change also took place during the HIV and AIDS epidemic, a period when gay men were unfairly associated with the disease and faced fear, prejudice, and scrutiny of their bodies. The epidemic was not the only cause of this transformation, but it contributed to a context in which the exposure of gay bodies became marked by stigma.
By creating swim briefs with narrow sides, higher-cut shapes, and different fit options, PEACH reclaims this language as a choice of freedom. Not to impose a body standard, but to offer new ways of existing, dressing, and occupying the beach.
Our Purpose
PEACH exists to expand the possibilities of expression for gay men, including their femininity, which has so often been repressed or considered inappropriate.
We create pieces that combine comfort, quality, design, color, and personality. Each style offers a different experience because we believe there is no single way to dress the body or to be a gay man.
Art, Fashion, and Expression
PEACH is a brand of expression. We understand fashion as a form of communication capable of revealing desires, affirming identities, questioning conventions, and challenging what has been taken for granted.
Each piece is a way of saying who we are — without having to explain ourselves, ask for permission, or follow a single idea of masculinity. That is why our aesthetic brings together the beach, the city, color, sensuality, Brazilian identity, and contemporary references.
PEACH believes that strength and delicacy, attitude and vulnerability, body and identity can coexist. Clothing does not simply cover the body; it can also communicate, provoke, and create belonging.
Creating new cuts, new images, and new narratives is our way of transforming fashion into a space of freedom. Because expressing yourself is also about occupying spaces, recognizing your own identity, and allowing others to recognize themselves.
More than selling swim briefs, we want to build a brand that strengthens authenticity, recognition, and belonging.
A Brazilian, contemporary, colorful, and unmistakable brand.
PEACH is wearing a way of existing.
